No offense to some folks here but after seeing how much of a hypocrite crabbie/film123 was about Blanchett I don’t know what to believe anymore. I’m always wary when I see a EEAAO stan being this nice.
Theron was undeniable in terms of her reviews, had the physical transformation aspect (easily quantifiable acting) and no Yeoh equivalent in the race to emerge as a serious competitor. Winslet had a massive overdue narrative (and the character is more in line with Arendt’s conception of banal evil rather than the typical malice of a villain). Also your three examples were villains but not cold characters necessarily. Tár as a character is quite cold.

i don’t see why we should “hate” andrea, michelle, and ana, regardless of how we feel about their performances’ quality.

These are the kind of opinions stated as fact which just cause more division… None of the nominees deserve hate and are all “rightfully here”.

Yeah agreed with this. She is also a part of the ensemble of major upcoming projects and has a lead role in a film produced by Jamie Foxx.

She spends the whole movie feeling guilt about it ( she’s depressed, can’t sleep, rarely eats, she’s haunted by the ghost) and towards the end it really dawns on her how awful she was and how she abused her power.
