What Jessica Chastain did in The eyes of tammy faye no other actress could ever do. The voice the singing. She acted and showed emotion through layers of make up. No one has her range. She is the best actress of her generation theres no debate.

Now that things have cool down a bit, how many stats that were against her she overcomed?

The Volpi Cup + trifecta + Drama Globe + BAFTA combo was too powerful (not taking AACTA into consideration because Blanchett had home advantage and neither BFCAA because I don’t even consider them worthy of being called an award, LOL).

I recall someone saying Hilary Swank defeated Imelda Staunton with almost the same, but Staunton didn’t have Globe Drama and BAFTAs weren’t a precursor by then.

Imo the greatest hurdle Michelle had to overcome is defeating Cate Blanchett. Stats be good, stats be damned.
