This is what I was talking about when I said how Amsterdam does will impact Margot’s chances for Babylon because it will set a narrative around her. I don’t know if any of the backlash she gets for working with DOR will go mainstream (probably not because it’s such a HUGE cast to share the blame) but we will definitely see how this film performs critically and commercially. If she is entering Babylon promo coming straight off a badly reviewed box office bomb, there is even more pressure for Babylon to be really good and do really well at the box office to offset it. If they both do badly commercially it’s a double whammy. Plus if Amsterdam gets mixed reviews and Babylon gets mixed reviews, it hurts her chances at even getting the nomination. It just won’t be her year.

It’s unfair to consider Blonde just as unapproachable, the film portrays the way Marilyn Monroe was treated by the industry.

There’s a way to go about portraying the way Marilyn Monroe was treated by the industry without putting so much graphic shit in it that it’s NC-17.
