I think it’s premature to write off Till as a potential Best Picture nominee. I know someone who saw it at a NYFF press screening who thinks that not only is Deadwyler “just terrific,” but also thought the movie is “great” and is “very surprised that it’s not being talked about more as a Best Picture contender.”

Its September so everything is premature 🙂

It’s not premature to draw conclusions about films that have already been widely reviewed, even if not yet released.

because MGM aren’t good campaigners and they already have women talking honestly i hope the movie is great

The way you defend Sam Mendes is funny, it just shows how hypocritical this forum is. Imagine if the director of Empire of Light were Peter Farrelly

We get it, you love Green Book with all your heart. I also love a movie that most people here loathed because it won an “undeserved Oscar” and defends it win to this day.

The problem here is Sam Mendes is 100x Filmmaker Peter Farrelly is and he didnt made a problematic movie that won Best Picture (In retrospect, American Beauty was deeply problematic, but not at the time it was released. Green Book was problematic at the time it was released)

    FYC:
Best Director: Edgar Wright, Guillermo Del Toro, Jane Campion
Best Picture: Nightmare Alley, The Power of the Dog
Best Actress: Kristen Stewart, Thomasin McKenzie, Rooney Mara, Tessa Thompson
Best Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper
Best S. Actress: Cate Blanchett, Diana Rigg, Anya Taylor Joy
Best S. Actor: Kodi Smit McPhee, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins

Margot Robbie friendship with David O. Russell will hurt her chances.

Either way, I believe Yeoh or Viola Davis will win.

I think if the critics support her, there might be a chance of nomination.

    It won’t affect her chances.

He’s just another grifter, just ignore them, literally everything he complains about here (slavery, “fake” reviews) are straw man arguments to pump up his base.

Last month he spent 20 minutes moaning about how House of the Dragon is a “woke disaster” and is now praising it spite Rings of Power.
