Mirren is not from this year.

Not to mention that Helen Mirren film is from Bleecker Street that doesn’t receive any nomination and if it is this year it will be worse because the category is full.

Wow apenas wow! Você percebe que é um comentário SAD da “maioria das pessoas” se for verdade? Mentes propagandeadas não param de me surpreender!

I don’t know if it was sarcasm or if you’re just a troll, but anyway, as other users said, most of the population doesn’t even have Twitter.

Going a little off topic here but I hate it when people say “Twitter isn’t real life.”

Yes, there are vocal minorities that like to game the system but there are also legitimate voices online. The MeToo movement, the Black Lives Matter movement. Those would not be what they are today if not for them going viral on social media.

If Twitter isn’t real life, why do so many corporations focused on social media campaigns? Why are so many experts concerned over social media harassment, misinformation or radicalization?

Even in the context of movies, that Barbarian movie is over-performing and having great box office legs partially because of positive online word of mouth.

The justified Amsterdam backlash isn’t going to impact Robbie’s chances for Babylon. Outside of Film Twitter, which is only a niche subset of Twitter that skews younger, more politically active and within the Anglosphere, nobody’s even talking about Amsterdam. If she was the only big star in Amsterdam, maybe, but I don’t see her taking the sole blame for that film considering it’s massive cast, some of whom probably have potential awards contenders in the near future as well.

If it’s good, she’s probably supporting.

Variety just debunked that rumor. Apple told them they will not release Napoleon.

Honestly, this years race has me very excited. I really hope it isn’t one of those predictable ones where one actress wins everything. Really want to see some massive split in the precursor and critics groups right up to Oscar night. Spread the love.

I believe that this year a black actress will win.

Cate Blanchett is going to be a critics favorite, but at industry awards I believe Viola Davis or Naomi Ackie.

Ackie movie seems to be bad, I think she gets the nomination but victory is difficult.

But I also believe that Blanchett will dominate the critics’ group.

Apple is lost this year anyway, it’s better for Kirby to stay next year.

Jessica Chastain just won for a bad movie no one has seen.

The Academy will want to make history this year.
