How many exactly? Because as far as I know the Academy has over 10,000 members.

You do realize only the acting branch votes for the acting nominees right…

Michelle (Yeoh, Williams) Oscar campaign manager.

Best Actress: Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchett
Best Supporting Actor: Brendan Gleeson, Ke Huy Quan
Best Supporting Actress: Kerry Condon, Nina Hoss

They think film twitter votes for academy lol.

This argument makes no sense since there has already been proven support among industry folks for EEAAO and Yeoh’s performance. To say that it is Film Twitter based is extremely reductionist of the achievement of this film that has done wonders for independent filmmaking at the box office and for diversity/representation. There is no lack of any support for this film in the Academy and that can be proven credibly.

    A total of 1,336 members.

How many did you count again?

    As for now:

    Andrew Garfield
    Florence Pugh
    Riz Ahmed
    Shohreh Aghdashloo
    Guillermo Del Toro
    Edward Wright
    Colman Domingo
    Kristen Stewart

And that’s just the ones I remember because there were others.

    A total of 1,336 members.

How many did you count again?

And you need 223 no. 1. Placements to be nominated. This isn’t the SAG which every placement counts equally and you need all the membership to get a nom. By AMPAS it’s just a certain group for no. 1 votes

Btw did Norma Jeane checked the recent Andrew Dominik interview? What kind of words for a vapid “allied auteur” lol but probably Norma Jeane isn’t ready for this

Dominik is not that far as repulsive, chauvinist and abuser than many of the men of the book and film…

And that film had a clear abortion subject and NC-17 sex scenes?

One thing is a classic middle ground biopic and another is Blonde unless your lack of proper intelligence or your level of troll can’t see

Please this is about a recognizable magazine (Sight and Sound) during a promotion interview. Don’t be so delusional XD.

Next time alternate truth Lol. At least blame Dominik for being a pompous jerk who can’t keep his mouth shut when necessary.

The interviews are being taken out of context, the film twitter hates Dominik.

What really makes me hopeful for Yeoh was that Daniel Kaluuya got nominated for Get Out. So, I HOPE she is in.

The way they also kicked more ass in their movies than all the other contenders in their movies combined.

Yeoh is far from a lock. I think that the overwhelmingly positive reaction it received in social media is blinding many of you from the fact that EEAAO differs, in many ways, from the films the Academy usually showers with nominations.

I have my concerns about it, especially when it comes to A24 ability to bottle their chances and certain demographics like Farrelly and basically any elder members with zero taste.

But to say EEAO differs from Academy’s usual stuffs is…. idk… they just award CODA with some of the biggest prizes? EEAO is essentially a family movie told in the most inspiring way possible.

EEAO’s family themes are present throughout the movie and its not understated the way stuffs like Arrival did.

I dont know why are you so obsessed in dragging down it chances unless:

    1. You didnt like the movie

    2. You are Jordan Ruimy trying to stir some shit against the movie

    3. You have a grudge against the movie/Asians in general

    FYC:
Best Director: Edgar Wright, Guillermo Del Toro, Jane Campion
Best Picture: Nightmare Alley, The Power of the Dog
Best Actress: Kristen Stewart, Thomasin McKenzie, Rooney Mara, Tessa Thompson
Best Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper
Best S. Actress: Cate Blanchett, Diana Rigg, Anya Taylor Joy
Best S. Actor: Kodi Smit McPhee, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins
