There’s a physicality to Blanchett’s performance in TAR that looks like new ground for her.
September 28, 2022 at 9:00 am #1205101057Blanchett is so far ahead in this race! Incredible
September 28, 2022 at 9:01 am #1205101059I’m actually on the opposite hand. I don’t think Cate will win. I do believe she’ll sweep critics awards, but will be that a critics pick. I think the Oscar’s will choose a more populist winner.
September 28, 2022 at 9:12 am #1205101075She is coming
Darling, finally a character where I can relate to (hate annoying noises lol, especially from my neighbors. But minus the EGOT)
September 28, 2022 at 9:12 am #1205101077Wow… Just, wow!
That trailer was everything – the sound, Blanchett’s chameleon voice, her physicality, the cinematography… You can sense the artistry, the intellect, the conversation author and the actor want to have with the audience.
I may be biased as I love Cate but this doesn’t look too inaccessible as we have predicted. Yes, this is art-house movie and as such, it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I wouldn’t discount many people, especially artists finding themselves in this or being inspired with this.
There is a sense of undeniability about Blanchett. She is owning it and I can see her going all the way.

Hey baby ❤️
I avoided GD after the slap because the whole situation pissed me off and I didn’t want to hear about it anymore and then I kinda just left. But the Best Actress race looks exciting as hell (only watched Michelle and Ana so far and watching Viola next week) so you know I have to be here chile

Yeoh was terrific ! I did think the movie went a bit too off the rails at times and some of the things had me very confused but her performance ? Hell yes
And she’s such an underrated legend. I’m definitely rooting hard for her
