Anyway, I believe that Naomi Ackie is being underestimated.

Ana de Armas may still happen despite bad reviews. Her performance is undeniably great even with problems some may have with the movie. I’m not counting her out just yet.

I don’t have any confidence in Jennifer Lawrence, her film seems too small and independent to get in.

    Yep

I also don’t think Jennifer is happening

with enough push she can. her name alone will have people interested and it’s premiering at festivals so I wouldn’t count her out just yet

I think she can get in if 2/3 of the other contenders aren’t well received, unfortunately she lost her momentum during the past 5 years and the Harvey rumors aren’t doing her any favors, such a pity because I think she’s a terrific actress.

Ana de Armas is absolutely fantastic in Blonde, but she has no chance to get nominated because the movie itself is so graphic in many respects. In fact, I can see a lot of voters for these awards show not even finishing it.

Can you be more specific about the Harvey rumors?

she already clarified in a recent interview that she did not “f**k harvey Weinstein” when people were accusing her of so. It doesn’t affect her chances not one bit btw and it’s not even a big controversy right now. just addressing something that was speculated years ago. she’s fine

i think Harvey tried to bribe some girl into having sex with him saying he “got JLaw an Oscar”. A rumor I don’t believe and that Jen herself cleared up, but knowing a bit how the industry work I think it can affect her a little.

For now (it might change if Deadwyler gets raves and Till is good):

    GG Drama: Blanchett

    GG Comedy: Yeoh

SAG: Viola (Tar is not exactly what they go for but they also love Blanchett and the movie is about artists so who knows; Yeoh has a shot too)

    BAFTA: Blanchett

    Oscars: Blanchett

I believe Cate will be the critics darling but I’m NOT sure if she will win the precursors.
