Omg The Fabelmans is finished after its BAFTA snub for Picture and Director.

It’s really going to be between Everything Everywhere All At Once and The Banshees of Inisherin with Tar(??!) maybe being in 3rd. This is amazing news for me lol my 3 fav films of the year are the top 3 contenders.

Tar is not going to win, so it’s not even third. I kept saying this like 3 months ago it was a two horse race between Banshees and EEAO.

Speilberg can still win director not because he deserves it or god knows the movie is great, but because someone created this bizzare narrative he needs to win. I still don’t think he wins, but gets nominated just because. Hoping Academy members realize there are like 10 other worthy director and he gets snubbed. He doesn’t need a nomination!

All Quiet on the Western Front is a Top 5 BP contender. The Whale takes the 9th spot in Best Picture. The final spot is a toss-up between Babylon (tech juggernaut), Aftersun (passion pick), The Woman King (possible director contender), and Women Talking (SAG ensemble nominee, although less likely).

I feel content predicting The Daniels, Spielberg, Field and Berger but that last spot in director is wrangling my brain a bit? Is it really just going to be McDonagh? There’s something about it that just feels too easy to be true.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
