Darlings, this year picture and director will be again for two different movies. Spielberg is my predicted choice in director for Divorced Parents Trauma. Your Prime Minister still does not know what to predict in picture.
Thatch! Happy to see your old persona back.

I prefer my roses whiteFebruary 6, 2023 at 7:44 pm #1205295117Given our five directors are also nominated for both Picture and Original Screenplay, I wonder if we would get a total spread of the wealth
EEAAO gets Picture
Spielberg gets Director
McDonagh gets ScreenplayAnd in that case, I suppose the win for TAR would be Blanchett. I am not over the moon about Spielberg winning Director, but I can see it happening.

This was what many were predicting in 2015
- Picture: Boyhood
- Director: Birdman
- Screenplay: The Grand Budapest Hotel
however, sometimes the Academy doesn’t care about that. (Birdman won all 3). It’s possible but I’m pretty sure EEAAO will win one of Director or Screenplay with Picture/Supporting Actor. If EEAAO loses Director, then it will most likely win screenplay, and vice versa.

Yeah, I am more inclined to believe in that – either EEAAO sweeps all three, or McDonagh wins Screenplay with Daniels win Picture + Director, or Spielberg wins Director, and EEAAO takes Picture + Screenplay.
February 7, 2023 at 8:47 am #1205295707I’m not hoping for this, but should TG:M win PGA, and it’s possible, I’ll probably alter my predix, for the hundredth time.

I think WGA would have to go for it also.

In reality, voters don’t vote with a wealth-spreading mindset. Otherwise for example they would have never allowed A.G.I. to win as producer, director and writer in 2014 leaving Linklater and Anderson hoping for better luck next time.
For this year in particular my hunch is EEAAO will take either directing or writing, but not both.

This. I’m not a fan of “wealth spreading”.

I prefer my roses whiteFebruary 8, 2023 at 5:42 pm #1205297678I finally got to watch Banshees, and I gotta say I was severely underwhelmed. It wasn’t very funny, it wasn’t very moving. Can someone explain what has made so many people love this film, especially the actual story of it? It felt like two hours of people walking in and out of doors and discussing the same thing over and over again. The script tried so hard to be funny but was just really on the nose and straightforward. The characters and their motivations for doing anything felt very unnatural and too thought out to provoke any emotional reaction in me. I guess you’d only enjoy this film if you’re really into observing acting performances. I expected highly of it and will be surprised if it wins anything.
February 8, 2023 at 7:27 pm #1205297730I wish pundits were better at hiding their biases. Ryan McQuade was on the Mike, Mike and OScar podcast, and kept undermining EEAAO in every category to boost TAR, which he called the big winner of this awards season since it got nominated in screenplay, acting, directing, and cinematography categories, as if EEAAO isn’t a much bigger win considering most people considered it a fringe contender at the start of the season and it debuted almost a year ago.

To be fair, EEAAO stans have been annoying all season as well, especially the Film Twitter ones. If you don’t worship EEAAO like they do you are shunned and ridiculed. Honestly, it borders on cult-like behaviour.

They don’t see how obnoxious some of them are. If someone likes other movies or performances then they are haters or enemies. Very black and white thinking. I myself got harassed here by film 123(crabbie) and david.
