So it continues…
If he wins lafca and NBR in those weeks then he is going all the way
December 6, 2022 at 3:33 pm #1205180837My current predictions as of December 6th:
Paul Dano, The Fabelmans
Brendan Gleeson, The Banshees of Inisherin
Barry Keoghan, The Banshees of Inisherin
Ke Huy Quan, Everything Everywhere All At Once
Ben Whishaw, Women TalkingI will personally hunt down like rabid dogs any academy members who think Judd Hirsch deserves to be nominated for an Oscar for such an atrocious five minutes of over-acting garbage!
I have a hunch Brad Pitt will take one of these five slots – likely my personal favorite, Keoghan – if Babylon is well liked by academy members. That movie is the biggest question mark for me of this Oscar season – can’t wait to see it for myself!!!!!

December 7, 2022 at 3:02 pm #1205182188Are we sure that gleeson isn’t a threat here because I remember Rockwell winning despite not being the critics darling lol
December 8, 2022 at 10:55 am #1205183323Gleeson won NBR. Could mean something.

I wouldn’t take NBR too seriously in terms of acting wins. They typically get 1/4 and I’d rather bet on Farrell or Yeoh. Rockwell’s competition was his own co-star, Richard Jenkins in the Shape of Water and two actors who were the sole nominations for their movies.

December 9, 2022 at 1:17 pm #1205185582I want Barry Keoghan to be nominated so much! He delivered my favorite acting in any movie I have seen so far in 2022: the scene between Dominic and Siobhan by the river. THAT was a phenomenal superb supporting performance and it deserves an Oscar imo! He is so far my choice in this category and I am genuinely puzzled as to why he isn’t in the top 5 ): It’s this way every year – consensus builds around the wrong actors ):

He did such a good job, I mean that scene by the lake with him confessing was gold.

Ali, Simmons, and Waltz in BP nominees. Quan the biggest frontrunner in all the major categories, methinks.
