    What a fucking stupid reply. Who cares? We’re talking this year and this movie.

    Why is Brendan Gleeson ranking high in this category for his nothingburger role while Barry Keoghan who did a faaarrr better job is being ignored?

    I agree Keoghan is better in the film but he’s clearly not being ignored given he’s ranked 4th in the GD combined odds. Gleeson has critic wins and a career narrative, plus the more prominent role in the film, hence why he’s ranked higher.

    Gleeson has ONE critic win. NBR is NOT critics

    Fair enough, still relevant to my point. NBR is actually more relevant than a regional critics award. The semantics don’t matter in relation to the category, which Quan is winning, or to Keoghan, who has fewer award wins than Gleeson so far.

    Quan will probably win. But Gleeson was phenomenal. Such a dark performance. I think he scoops BAFTA.

    Keoghan > Gleeson

    Barry Keoghan is such an enormous talent, he ripped my heart to shreds over and over. I’m so happy that him is getting a number of nominations for his performance. It’s really great.

    Unpopular opinion here but not only was Glesson better than Keoghan, he also gave the best performance of the main contenders.

    I think some folks are endeared to Keoghan because he has the much more sympathetic role with emotional beats and Gleeson’s is subtle and cold/dark, but for my part I found Gleeson was the better of the two phenomenal performances if we’re to compare them. Glad both he and Keoghan will be getting their deserved noms!

    It’s easy to get washed away by Keoghan’s Dominic since he’s such an emotional joy to look at, and that’s kudos to Keoghan because maybe another actor would not make us feel that.
    But he just isn’t on the level of Brendan Gleeson, at least not yet, Brendan dominates Colm and gives such a subdued and cold performance that’s criminal how good it is.

    Both would be excellent nominees but I’d give the win to Brendan, not that it matters because Quan is sweeping.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    I actually prefer Keoghan’s performance over Quan’s since we’re sharing unpopular opinions. And I’m hopedicting here but i hope Gleeson gets snubbed Balfe-style come Oscar nom day.

    I just love movies. And awards.

    Of course Keoghan is going to stand out more. He plays the feeble minded character. Gleeson plays the cold asshole. By design one performance be showier
