In a fair world Mark Rylance would be a lock for Bones And All.
He was amazing, better than his winning performance in Bridge Of Spies and Chicago 7.

Second this. Rylance is bone-chilling without even trying. I don’t know how he did it other than having ✨✨talent✨✨
December 28, 2022 at 7:03 pm #1205212433Mark Rylance gives one of the best performances of the year in Bones and All.
He deserves a post-win nomination, especially if J.K. Simmons can get one for Being the Ricardos.
December 29, 2022 at 3:21 am #1205212581Predictions:
1. Ke Huy Quan (EEAAO)
2. Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin)
3. Barry Keoghan (The Banshees of Inisherin)
4. Paul Dano (The Fabelmans)
5. Judd Hirsch (The Fabelmans)
5 I also considered Brad Pitt and Brian Tyree Henry. Babylon being a flop + Angelina Jolie allegations will hurt Brad Pitt’s chances. And as for Brian Tyree Henry I just think Causeway is too little of a movie. So I ended up going with Hirsch but I much prefer the other two.

If this was the lineup, then Ke Huy Quan would run away with the win.

Of all the films I’ve seen this year this film has stuck with me the most. I think of it daily and has actually prompted me to check out more Mark Rylance films due to his performances.

He’s great in the miniseries Wolf Hall.
Here for the comedies

December 30, 2022 at 2:02 am #1205213814So The Fabelmans last night.
As much as I loved Judd Hirsch in his brief appareance for me it’s not enough in comparison with other contenders.Dano did’nt impress me in the beginning, especially considering how Williams takes the main spotlight but I was towards the end of the movie.
And then Love & Mercy, There Will Be Blood, Twelve Years A Slave, Little Miss Sunshine….how much is overdue for a nomination???

I mean, theoretically, that’s what an Oscar nomination should do.
Makes someone out there go:
“Oh, damn. That’s a good actor/director/cinematographer/etc. I should check out more of their stuff”
and then that person proceeds to spend their $$$ on film industry products like movies and shows.
Right?
December 30, 2022 at 6:02 am #1205214034Personally, he should have been nominated for Trial of Chicago 7 and Don’t Look Up. He should be having a reverse Susan Sarandon run right now.
I just love movies. And awards.

December 30, 2022 at 9:17 am #1205214194Pitt has a very meaty role in Babylon. In this weak category I really can’t see him missing
Academy Award Winner Brendan Fraser
December 30, 2022 at 2:54 pm #1205214564The thing about The Fabelmans men is that there will be people voting for David Lynch and SR as well… Thinking about how they could both miss at SAG (like Belfast/Spotlight) for Pitt, Henry and Hanks.
December 30, 2022 at 3:37 pm #1205214600Darling, with their immense love of hamminess, I wouldn’t be shocked to hear Botox Hanks’ name being announced at SAG.
