I am not shocked at Brian Tyree Henry making it, i low-key knew it. He is a future Oscar winner, its just a matter of time.

the academy loves to nominate Veterans in small roles.

The academy just love it’s veterans in grandpa roles.

    …As long as they’re white.

    *cries for James Hong*

You sir, do have a point.

He lives in you, he lives in me, he watches over everything we see.
Into the water, into the truth, in your reflection, he lives in you.

I was genuinely shocked at Henry’s nom. I didn’t expect him to make it in with the veterans he was fighting alongside, how little his movie is, and how soft his performance is. He must’ve had a lot of passion + Apple behind him helped. He’s the one nominee in this category that isn’t in a BP nominee – continuing a decade-long trend.

Amen! This reminds me of Hermione Baddeley’s nomination for Room at the Top in 1959 for what was the shortest amount of screen-time ever for an acting nomination. Loved Hirsch, he had one great scene, but c’mon!

Hirsch was better than Dano imo, Dano kind of made me cringe.

Out of all the performances and oddities in the Fablemans Dano made you cringe. Interesting

Causeway is a small film with a giant heart. Brian Tyree Henry gives the performance of the year, and Jennifer Lawrence, Linda Edmond, Jayne Houdyshell, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Russell Harvard are all incredible. Please go find this gem, directed by Lila Neugebauer!

I’m so glad the Academy voters listened to me.

I was extremely nervous when Henry and Hirsch were announced; thank goodness Barry Keoghan was among the nominees! 4 first time nominees and one second time nominee who’s last nomination was 42 years ago! My order of preference: 1. Barry Keoghan, The Banshees of Inisherin 2. Brendan Gleeson, The Banshees of Inisherin 3. Ke Huy Quan, Everything Everywhere All At Once 4. Judd Hirsch, The Fabelmans (haven’t seen Brian Tyree Henry in Causeway) I know everybody thinks Quan will win but I am interested to see who BAFTA picks in this category…

BAFTA will go with one of the Banshees men, probably Gleeson.

First time I’ve seen one of Dano’s costars with weirder hair than him.

    The Sunne in Splendour.

That would be wonderful for Gleeson, but I’m not so sure.
I think they may go for Ke.
