Despite only having a few scenes, I’d nominate Colin Farrell for The Batman.
January 4, 2023 at 11:35 am #1205220543youre bring so weird about this.
And you are being rude by calling me weird. How am I being weird? It’s a simple, harmless question. I’d like to see others input in regards to the other supporting nominees.
If that triggers you then I’m sorry. But this is an open discussion forum. You could always block me too if you’d like.
January 4, 2023 at 11:38 am #1205220550I think lots of people are gonna disgaree with this and give this award to Quan or Gleeson, but Barry Keoghan gives an all-time performances in Banshees. Might have a best supporting sweep from this movie.
He was so phenomenal. Definetely one of my favorite younger working actors today 🙂
And a cutie.
January 5, 2023 at 1:45 am #1205221214Darling, I truly hope that Grandpa Hong could at least got a few critics noms. It’s one of the funniest performance of 2022 that are sadly overlooked.
His delivery of “what the fook are you doing” while holding a handgun is masterful and hilarious
I’m praying for him to De Tavira his way into the Oscars.
Darling, Alpha Gong Gong agrees with you.
January 5, 2023 at 1:47 am #1205221219Also, why is James Hong not added into the predictions center, still?
January 5, 2023 at 2:56 am #1205221276So if Quan loses will everyone have a collective meltdown?
I don’t think he is but I’m curious. Thoughts?
I’m sure most of FilmTwitter, bros in YouTube and most GD users will lose their minds–especially if he wins everything up to that point.
I was rooting for Barry for a while because he was really the MVP of Banshees for me but after watching EEAAO again, I’m won over by Quan’s performance.
I just love movies. And awards.
January 5, 2023 at 6:02 am #1205221363I could see a situation where Brendan wins similar to Sam Rockwell. Thoughts? That film had 2 supporting nominations. Same as Judas and the Black Messiah. I’m still predicting Quan though.
Not really
The passion of Banshees lies with Barry while industry support will conventionally go with Gleeson (a veteran). They both will split votes. If either of them gets snubbed from Final 5, then I can see a case but until then it’s deservingly Quan’s.
January 5, 2023 at 7:49 am #1205221495Tom Hanks deserves a nomination for his portrayal of Elvis Presley’s manager. He was amazing. I hope he surprises on Oscar morning.

I hope so. He needs to coattail. I’m surprised he doesn’t get mentioned here

January 5, 2023 at 8:12 am #1205221543So if Quan loses will everyone have a collective meltdown? I don’t think he is but I’m curious. Thoughts?
Definitely, he’s most likely doing one of the biggest sweep of all time (and will be the biggest winner of this season) and it’d be a real shame if he doesn’t end with an Oscar in his hands.
I’m confident he won’t lose tho, unlike other years were we’ve had passion picks beating critics darlings, Quan is both, he has the passion and the critics push. He’s the biggest lock of the night.
"EGOT" and "Triple Crown of Acting" winner: VIOLA DAVIS!!!!
January 5, 2023 at 9:11 am #1205221602After viewing The Menu, I would love to see Nicholas Hoult get some award love. Just really dug his performance – I’ve met a few smarmy Tyler’s in my life. He was the perfect Tyler.
Life is a thin thread.
We hang on tightly knowing
it will snap one day.January 5, 2023 at 3:13 pm #1205222022I saw Elvis recently and I thought Hanks was awful, however I’m safely putting him in my top 5. If Butler is as strong as he’s predicted to be in Actor + the movie is mid-tier in Picture then Hanks (beloved veteran) should have no problem getting in. It’s safer than nominating Pitt (for obvious reasons). I’m currently predicting him at SAG.
January 5, 2023 at 5:14 pm #1205222094I could see Hanks making it in, but I’ve got a gut feeling it’ll be easy for Redmayne to score a SAG nod and then the Oscar nom. I know most think he’s just a floater type contender this year, but on paper it makes more sense than it doesn’t. Kind of reminds me of when Tucci got in for Lovely Bones.
January 5, 2023 at 5:30 pm #1205222106I don’t know, we’ll see about Hanks. It’s worth noting that even when the Globes went crazy for Elvis they still snubbed him, so his performance may not be as liked as the movie is.
I do think he’s happening at SAG, Jared Leto in House of Gucci all over again.FYC:
The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!
