My favourite performance of this category is 8 hours away from winning the Oscar. So deserved if he wins! Fingers crossed. Let’s go Quan. You deserve it!

It will be nice seeing Quan win tonight after this moment has been a year in the making for him but I really am disappointed Gleeson couldn’t get any traction this season. If anyone should have upset at BAFTA it should have been him.

Absolutely agree! Gleeson got punched because he played an unlikable character unlike Barry but he acted circles. I am looking forward to his future roles!

Happy for Quan but man, Gleeson’s performance in Banshees did it for me. Looking for forward to seeing him in more films.

Quan 100% deserved his win. I’m so happy.

Just on the off chance some of you haven’t seen Gleeson’s previous work, he’s made well over 100 films. Love sharing film recommendations so throwing a dart I LOVE The Grand Seduction, (the Canadian English speaking version by Don McKellar, of the French film which is almost word for word). Captures the heart of a Newfoundland Bay and happens to have the late Gordon Pinsent.
Then there’s Calvary another McDonagh film where he could have been given an Oscar nod.

I think he was the best part of Cold Mountain.

He’s in Paddington2 as well. Just so great.
I’ll stop here but I hope if you get the time and you like him…..

    The Sunne in Splendour.

I would have preferred Barry Keoghan to win and am so pleased that he won at BAFTA!!!! I figured that would be his only win. It was also great that Gleeson won AACTA. They are award winning performances, just not Oscar winning performances. Quan was excellent and I have no problem with his being an Oscar winner for a terrific performance – just preferred the Banshees actors.

Easily the best group this decade out of all 4 acting categories.

JK Simmons in Being The Ricardos was such a terrible nomination, I can’t even grasp.

the academy going from nominating him to nominating Brian Henry was such a flex
