preemptive. OMFG I cant believe they nominated keke 😛
January 24, 2023 at 2:40 am #1205260298I don’t really care about my score. Give me chaos.
January 24, 2023 at 2:47 am #1205260307It’s said this year the announcement via screens and pictures will return, are they going to read them for every single category? Because when this system was in use they only read the major 10, with the exception of 1 or 2 years around 2014-2015.
They went to reading every category when they switched from morning news shows to streaming as the primary distribution channel; that’s why they now start at 5:30 AM PT instead of 5:38:30 (allowing exactly 8-1/2 minutes for bottom-of-hour host chatter, news & commercials). Reading all 23 categories is the new normal; only omitting the screens & pictures was a byproduct of COVID canceling the usual Samuel Goldwyn Theater press conference.

Omitting screens and pictures and just listing the nominees has been the practice since 2016 (the Moonlight year), way before covid arrived.
January 24, 2023 at 3:04 am #1205260318Whatever happens, I hope we can all be civil with each other.
Not if Avatar doesn’t get the nominations it deserves

So? It still doesn’t start at 5:38:30 anymore, and it’s now primarily on YouTube & other streaming platforms so the available time is no longer constrained by GMA, Today, etc. time windows. However they present the nominees on-screen, we are NOT going back to a limited number of live categories.
January 24, 2023 at 3:34 am #1205260327Gabriel LaBelle is gonna get nominated, isn’t he?
January 24, 2023 at 3:35 am #1205260329I’m all for snubs and surprises.
But I swear. If Avatar: The Way of Water isn’t nominated for Best Picture, I will go fucking Jason on these voters.
I will sue these voters and take them to court. That’s how serious this snub/crime would be.
Don’t fuck me up like that.
January 24, 2023 at 3:37 am #1205260331Made a last minute prediction from Eddie Redmayne in Supporting Actor to Woody Harrelson. I’m ready to flop in all my predictions now.

Just close the predictions center cause I’m going insane, but I just can feel that the last spot there will be crazy.
Also slotted The Batman instead of EEAAO in Sound. That’s it for me I don’t plan on changing anything else. Let’s cross our fingers!
