OMG! I came 109th place!! I’m finally beating the bad predictor allegations👏👏. Predicting Banshees in editing, EEAAO in Song and Score, and Women Talking still definitely carried me.

Michelle (Yeoh, Williams) Oscar campaign manager.

Best Director: Park Chan-Wook Todd Field
Best Original Screenplay: Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All At Once
    Best Actor: Colin Farrell
Best Actress: Michelle Yeoh, Cate Blanchett, Tang Wei
Best Supporting Actor: Brendan Gleeson, Ke Huy Quan

I’m delighted about Hong Chau. I haven’t seen The Whale but she has long been one of the best performers out there

I think she had a lot of goodwill also coming her kind of snubs for Downsizing and Watchmen

    FYC:

Zar Amir Ebrahimi - Holy Spider (Best Actress)
Ana de Armas, Julianne Nicholson - Blonde (Best Actress, Supporting Actress)
Samantha Morton - She Said (Best Supporting Actress)
Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin (Best Supporting Actress)

Anyways let’s talk about the worst snub of the day, Blonde for make-up. Seriously?

    FYC:

Zar Amir Ebrahimi - Holy Spider (Best Actress)
Ana de Armas, Julianne Nicholson - Blonde (Best Actress, Supporting Actress)
Samantha Morton - She Said (Best Supporting Actress)
Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin (Best Supporting Actress)

Ruben Ostlund. RUBEN F’N OSTLUND. Over James Cameron. 2022 was a great year for movies, despite the dumpster fire 🔥 the Oscars gave us. Astonishing in its badness. Andrea FREAKING Riseborough needs to get down on her knees and thank God because she is the luckiest person on the face of the earth.

    Over Berger and Park also

What in the actual hell is going on?

I am happiest about Banshees getting a Film Editing nomination! This helps its chances for BP! I have felt that BP is between Banshees and Everything Everywhere and this cements it for me.

I was right about All Quiet overperforming!

Shocked that Top Gun: Maverick isn’t nominated for Cinematography and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever isn’t nominated for Production Design!

14 SAG nominees got acting nominations.

16 first-time acting nominees – including all 5 Best Actor nominees!

Judd Hirsch’s nomination is criminal – such a terrible performance!

This is a rare year where I haven’t seen all the nominees: Triangle of Sadness, Causeway, To Leslie, Blonde – haven’t seen them.

Super happy about The Whale not getting an Adapted Screenplay nomination for its meh script – and no BP nomination either!

tbh seeing headlines pop up now touting Yeoh as the first Asian nominee in BA. Might overshadow the snub of Deadwyler, Davis, which is frustrating, but also, happy that Yeoh is getting that spotlight.

I’m EXTREMELY HAPPY for Michelle Yeoh and her being the 1st Asian nominated for Best Actress is PURE JOY and really hope and 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 she wins and YES it’s making headlines. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

BUT the thought of two Black actress being snubbed for two white actress is a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE there and won’t bode well with other black celebrities.

    Exactly

Davis was good, but Deadwyler knocked it out the park

Extremely disappointed with the Academy over the Deadwyler snub. She gave a winning performance. I don’t mind the Davis snub as I thought Mbedu should’ve been lead. On the flip side, I was filled with utter glee to see Bassett collect her second nomination and Brian Tyree Henry collect his first!!!

Ranked just outside of Top 400 out of 9k. Not too bad actually 🤭

Four-time Academy Award nominee Saoirse Ronan!

443rd isn’t the worst but I was 93rd last year so quite the drop. Lesson learnt, go with the gut instinct!

I got 195th, it wasn’t all that bad. Kind of irritating that I flirted with the idea of almost all of these “surprises” (including Top Gun out of cinematography and Bryan Tyree Henry in Supporting Actor). Östlund in Director I would never imagine tho.
