Todd Field would like a word with you. 😏

Martin McDonagh would like to have a word with both of you.

McDonagh is gonna lose again to a more culturally relevant screenplay. I hope it’s going to be EEAAO at least.

    For Your Consideration:
The Banshees of Inisherin in ALL categories, including:
    - Best Picture
    - Best Director
    - Best Actor (Colin Farrell)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson)
    - Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon)
    - Best Supporting Actress (Sheila Flitton)
    - Best Original Screenplay

Banshees is more of a gg and bafta screenplay winner than an oscar one

EEAAO seems more of a typical Oscars Original Screenplay winner than Banshees. Even 3 Billboards feels stronger.

I have Avatar, Glass Onion, Pinocchio, Top Gun and Women Talking in my adapted and if that happens, that would be the wildest set yet, with three sequels and a reimagining making the list.

I just love movies. And awards.

Catherine Called Birdy is charming and wordy. I imagine we’ll see Lena Dunham more this season than just at the Spirits and Gothams.

I agree with Christopher Rosen’s comments in the latest episode of slugfest. It could be more of a contender than we’re giving it credit for, especially with the adapted screenplay field being so thin and amazon backing the film.

    The Menu for Original Screenplay.

With Empire of Light, Aftersun, Banshees and Triangle of Sadness not eligible, I can see The Menu scoring a WGA nom.

It’s a box office “hit”, so it can get a Original Screenplay nom a la The Lobster. Let’s see if it gets a Golden Globes nom (Anya), along with WGA it’s an interesting combo. It also has nice audience scores.

I still think Babylon will miss this category.

God I wish there can be 6 slots in Original this year so that Triangle of Sadness can be nominated. So far it seems all 5 will come from BP contenders.
