Women Flopping is a truly atrocious movie, it’s truly baffling how it got into best picture and is likely to win for its screenplay. Living or Top Gun really should be walking away with this.

I really want Women Talking to win! Sarah Polley is a sweatheart..

She is. She’s our national treasure. Multi talented.

I switched Banshees to EEAAO but hoping I’m wrong.
If there’s a place Banshees should definitely win is Screenplay, such a good screenplay.

I had the same dilemma, but I think your switch is a good one.

Women Talking is winning Adapted Screenplay but it’s a toss up between Banshees ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ & EEAAO for Original.

My personal ranking of each of the nominated screenplays from this decade so far.

    1. The Banshees of Inisherin
    2. The Father

    3. Living
    4. Women Talking
    5. Tár
    6. Drive My Car
    7. The Lost Daughter
    8. Promising Young Woman
    9. The Worst Person in the World

    10. Sound of Metal
    11. Minari
    12. The Power of the Dog
    13. Glass Onion : A Knives Out Mystery
    14. One Night in Miami
    15. Everything Everywhere All at Once
    16. Nomadland

    17. Judas and the Black Messiah

    18. The Fabelmans
    19. CODA
    20. Dune
    21. All Quiet on the Western Front
    22. The White Tiger
    23. King Richard

    24. Top Gun : Maverick
    25. Triangle of Sadness
    26. Licorice Pizza
    27. The Trial of the Chicago 7
    28. Don’t Look Up
    29. Belfast
    30. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm

Top 2 have frankly two of the best screenplays I’ve ever seen. 3-9 are all also excellent character pieces although I don’t think I’d be able to tell you how I’d feel about them if I was still alive in 20 years time. 10-16 are also very good but either wouldn’t have been my choices to win in their respective fields or are films I feel were much more carried by their acting and direction (of which some of them have truly great directorial flare) or were great screenplays but not exactly world-changing. 17 is a very good film with a well written screenplay but also one that I thought could have gone further in its attempts at subversion. 18 to 23 did their jobs and the less said about 24 to 30 the better.

Solidarity with the striking writers. Pay them the wages they are owed for bringing us the content we are all on here because of!

so actually you don’t need to have more noms to win screenplay in either categories then other examples were Her vs American hustle , get out vs three billboards , Talk to her vs gangs of new york , it’s all about momentum and precursors
