I’m sorry, but in what world are Crowe, Bale and Downey Jr. in the same vein as what Depp and Majors have been accused of and what Wahlberg literally admitted to doing?

All of those great white actors did assault on other human beings

I’m weirdly confident in Fassbender and I don’t know why lol. Maybe because Fincher does great when it comes to acting noms.

The allegations against Christian Bale were dismissed for lack of evidence. https://amp.theguardian.com/film/2008/aug/14/christian.bale

Bradley Cooper, Maestro (feels overestimated though, dud rumors)
    Cillian Murphy, Oppenheimer
Leonardo DiCaprio, Killers of the Flower Moon (nothing exciting from him, working with the same director for the hundredth time)
    Colman Domingo, Rustin
    Paul Giamatti, The Holdovers

    Alts.
Michael Fassbender, The Killer (underestimated imo, they love a tormented villain redeeming himself in this category as opposed to Actress).
    Adam Driver – Ferrari
Barry Keoghan- Saltburn (another nomination so soon doesn’t feel right but maybe Fennell delivers)
Joaquin Phoenix- Napoleon (but who knows with Ridley Scott)

It’s March though and this is a shot in the dark. As opposed to last season it’s very competitive so many will fall.

I would love to see Fassbender nominated. I am still not over him missing for Shame. Damn Clooney…

Clooney was locked after GG won. Bichir stole that nomination. So obvious since he hasn’t been nominated since.

The Michael Fassbender campaign train starts here 🙂

Searchlight releasing Magazine Dreams in December, thinking that all the fuzz and controverse around Majors will die down. It is a long time between March and December

Both Rosamund Pike and Rooney Mara were nominated for a Fincher thriller so yeah, I’m predicting Fassbender. Plus, it’s a Netflix film.

I have the same fear but just out of curiosity, where have you seen or heard “dud rumors” about Maestro? The only mediocre or negative comment I’ve read which purports to be from, or be based on, reactions from anyone who has actually seen the film is from the ONE person whom Jordan Ruimy claims to have spoken with and then quoted in a post that Netflix had Ruimy remove from his blog, World of Reel.

Have you heard or read rumors which purport to reflect the view(s) of any other source besides that one person?

Honestly, no. I’ve read on some other forum it might be a dud but it’s only rumors. I don’t really know and he’s still first in my predictions which means I don’t put a lot of stock in this info. We can only speculate at this point.

Bichir was the best of that lineup, but I do think Fassbender deserved to be nominated

    FYC 2023:

Zar Amir Ebrahimi - Shayda (Best Actress)
Helen Mirren - Golda (Best Actress)
Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt - Oppenheimer (Best Actor/Actress)

Adam Driver in Ferrari is not to be underestimated.

I find it very odd that the film doesn’t yet have an American distributor.
