So you think that Berry Jenkins doesnt deserve a nom for best director? Why? Can you elaborate?

Yes, I can elaborate: i found the movie to be wildly uneven, the acting was all over the place: excellent (Andre Holland, Janelle Monae and Ashton Sanders), very good (the extremely over-rated Mahershala Ali), technically proficient (the over-rated Naomie Harris) and truly awful. There were some powerful scenes, yes, but there were also dreadful ones. I simply did not respond to this material. and you know? that’s O.K. I have beens saying since I saw it that the critics will give it all sorts of awards and then it will win only one Oscar – it is this year’s Boyhood. It will get 8 Oscar nominations, including Jenkins for Director and Screenplay, but just like Richard Linklater they will give the prizes to others (Chazelle for Director, Lonergan for Screenplay). jmho. I am also not fond of Jackie or Hell or High Water, and absolutely loved a movie called Indignation that hasn’t been getting any nominations at all (but is wonderful!)
