Say hello to the most prestigious award ceremony in Hollywood.

Not even funny dude. “Prestigious” is such a subjective as f**k term used by snobs I don’t want any awards to aim purely for that, or else all populist cultural relevance will be lost.

Seriously, for me the most credible awards ceremony is the Emmys and I would argue they have been that for the past few years ever since they made their awards a popular vote within the Television Academy. The Emmys do not need a “Best Popular TV Show” category since they have already been awarding popular widely-watched shows in major categories like this year’s likely Drama Series winner (for the third time I would add) Game of Thrones. Don’t forget Stranger Things and Westworld doing so well in noms for their sophomore seasons.

The Emmys are not perfect, but no awards show can ever be because human beings themselves are not perfect. I do think the Emmys are as good as these things get nowadays.

For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!

Game Night and Rachel McAdams I hope stay in the conversation.

Quoting this months later because these still deserve to stay in the conversation.

Comedy/Musical actress honestly is shaping out to be a more interesting category this year than Drama actress, there’s a ton of choices who seem probable to get in.
