Chris got the times wrong, it’s backwards. 8 p.m. EST, and 5 p.m. PST would be correct.

Looks like all five songs will be performed after all! Also all four of last year’s winners will be presenting!

Apparently each song will only get 90 secs slot for their performance. Well we can cross off a potential Xtina performance as special guest for Mary Poppins since we wouldn’t get to the first line.

Lol… I hope Gaga and Kendrick reject these ridiculous offers. How can you perform these songs in 90 seconds.

All the Stars can me managed due its pop song structure by doing one verse and one chorus.

Now if they want Gaga and Bradley to perform together I have no idea how they’ll make the song work in 90seconds including her scream and final chorus. They’ll have to cut the whole dialogue and start straight at Gaga vocalizing lol.

I know they never do full songs but such short offers are ridiculous for all nominees. They really don’t know what to do this year.

Oh gawd. This is so stupid. 90 seconds each?!? With no host, and headlining performers like Kendrick, Sza, Gaga, Cooper and Hudson, whats the problem? These songs are under 3 mins each.

    I don’t get it.

And half the awards are being handed out during commercials, their not exactly short for time.

No host, almost no performances and half the awards are being presented during the commercials.

What’s the point in even having a broadcast. They may as well just issue a press release

Oscars producers should learn to ignore twitter rants. I can’t believe they changed their schedule because of some whiners on twitter?

No offense but no one is watching the Oscars to watch The Place Where Lost Things Go or When A Cowboy etc…

They should’ve settled on All The Stars, Shallow and maybe I’ll Fight, if they have time.

It’s very disrespectful to ask some artists of the magnitude of Gaga and Kendrick to cut their hit songs to 90 seconds. They should decline.

All songs should be performed in full or no songs at all, for fairness sake.

I’m still infinitely more annoyed by how many categories won’t be getting presented live on TV, moved to commercial breaks. Talk about blatantly disrespectful.

I’m already planning on not watching the Oscars this year, but it is kind of funny and sad seeing them still shoot themselves in the foot with these decisions.

No. That’s totally unfair. It’s  like they’re calling 2 or 3 of the nominees filler. It hurts the credibility of the voting process because they’re obviously favouring the performing artists and their songs. We all know Shallow is winning with an almost impossible upset by ATS, they don’t need to underline it like that.

If they are so desperate to make the ceremony shorter, they should just get rid of all the performances, presenters and all the fluff and just hand out ALL the awards. That’s why I watch award shows, to see who wins and their speeches. Everything else is filler. The Oscars are trying to become the Grammys, treating the award show part as an afterthought. The Grammys are extremely boring with the 20+ performances and less than 10 awards and they’re trying to follow the same path but without the performances. What are they going to do, then?

I am pretty much the only one who is fine with not having to sit through dull speeches from the winner of the short subjects and most of the other creative arts winners; I wouldn’t mind at all sitting through them on a separate creative arts broadcast, but the show becomes so long and I just want them to present the awards. I can’t stand the allegedly witty banter. Just tell us who the nominees are and open the envelope already! I am all for a shorter show; most of my friends never get to see Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Picture because they are presented too late (I live in the eastern time zone).

I am for two separate broadcasts; creative arts with 14 categories and the main awards with 10 categories, time for all the Best Song nominees, and time for clips in all the acting categories. Perhaps E! or PopTV or Bravo for creative arts, and ABC for the main awards.

Are Shallow and All the Stars going to be only 90 seconds as well?
