That’s ridiculous. Gaga and Kendrick should revolt. Either all songs perform or none.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 24, 2019 at 2:24 pm #1202747218The Mary Poppins song is sung by Emily Blunt and the RBG song is sung by Jennifer Hudson. It’s not like they’re preventing a bunch of nobodies. Plus Gaga+Bradley and Kendrick+SZA thats 6 big names to advertise. And these performances last 2-3 minutes at most. The academy wants to save 12minutes of telecast? Really? With no host doing about 30minutes of jokes, skits, monologues in total?

Are they broke or something and really need a compact show filled with ads? The nominations event’s production design make it seems soJanuary 24, 2019 at 2:29 pm #1202747226Only two of the nominated songs will be performed?!? That’s ridiculous. This decision will make the ceremony even more uninteresting that it would already be, and audiences won’t respond good I guess.

ReplyCopy URLJanuary 24, 2019 at 2:37 pm #1202747235My disappointment with “Trip a Little Light Fantastic” not being nominated is that I so wanted Dick Van Dyke to take part in presenting the song (: It would have been such a great Oscar moment! (:
One of the 4 easiest categories to predict (the other 3 are all Roma related) is this one, “Shallow” is winning in a landslide!
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 24, 2019 at 2:40 pm #1202747241I will never be able to understand this. We need to take those songs away to save time, but then we have Jimmy Kimmel handing out shit for almost the exact ammount of time a song can be performed. Or they go to a theater to surprise people for the ammount of time it takes to perform 2 songs.
And now with no Oscar host there’s no monologue, so…. how much more time do they need?

January 24, 2019 at 2:52 pm #1202747264Also, doesn’t the music branch have that rule that the telecast must perform all five, three of them or none of them? Are they just gonna pass on this one?

It seems like they are trying to get out of ABC’S contract so they can either stream it themselves or go to an network that the academy would have more control.

No Host
Not Showing All Categories Live
Not Showing All The Performances
You literally snubbed Emily Blunt for both Mary Poppins Returns and A Quiet Place and they won’t even let her perform?! WTF??!
