Sound Editing, definitely. Sound Mixing, I’m not so sure.

Why wouldn’t it get in for both?

this is probably a stupid comment but I just dont understand why everyone is jumping to conclusions about Roma winning bp when it’s clearly going to win foreign film. I just dont see the academy giving Roma best foreign film, best director AND Best Film.

I agree. I cant get over Netflix stigma here.

It it gets to Roma vs ASIB, it will be very close. Voters love picking films that feel important to the current climate.

I still don’t see ASIB winning BP. There’s something that everyone is forgetting. And that’s the preferential ballot. Movies that drag backlash don’t win under this voting system. And there’s already two movies that are dragging backlash: First Man and ASIB. I know that right now the backlash for ASIB is only starting and is still warm but in January it will be HUGE. Right now i would say this is between Roma, Green Book, IBSCT. They are crowd pleasures and they seem like the kind of movie that you can’t hate like Moonlight and TSOW. The Favourite could also very easily win since it’s very different and artsy. And last few years the Academy also goes with what’s different like TSOW, Birdman and The Artist. But i could be wrong obviously.

Indiewire says Claire Foy is the best Lisbeth yet, but the movie is mediocre around her. Sad

What ASIB backlash are you talking about? The only problem was about the producer and it was cleared up and ignored since.

The movie is extremely popular and that often hurts them when the Oscar season starts. See what happen with La La Land went from 14 nominations to only 6 wins. And lost BP in one of the biggest upsets of all time. The hype of the movie is also receiving criticism for the fact that a lot of people are being disappointed by it. Let’s be real the hype around the movie it’s that huge that makes you think that this is masterpiece and is one of the best movies of all time. I let myself drag within the hype and got very disappointed. I liked the movie  but i think the hype is very exaggerated. I’ve seen better films. The screenplay and editing are not that good and Gaga’s acting skills are also getting backlash with a huge amount of people saying that she’s good BUT not THAT GOOD.But like i said it’s very early and you can’t feel the backlash yet. But this movie is going to get a lot of it and will be HUGE.
