I know that, but it was snubbed for Yak in the Classroom. Which is a bad decision.
Well, you said they should’ve put I’m Your Man and Great Freedom over A Hero and The Hand of God, thats why I said the former was snubbed.

They loved such films… Rememember Nepal getting in tooFebruary 8, 2022 at 12:00 pm #1204789452I think there will a small obscure contender. Somehow Hive seems too close to Honeyland from 2 years ago, Lamb is way too polarising, and there has been no buzz at all around the other European contenders or Hispanic contenders. So I am NGNG on Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom for my fifth spot.
Hehehehe 🙂

February 8, 2022 at 12:58 pm #1204789704The A Hero snub fucking stings. One of the best films of 2021. Amazon really fucked up there, and for what? Fucking Being the Ricardos lol.

February 8, 2022 at 4:19 pm #1204790300I could see Flee missing this. I’m not confident that it’ll be nominated in all three “Feature” categories.
I was certain it would be nominated in all 3 and it is an amazing one of a kind achievement!!!
I loved A Hero – it is definitely worth seeing if you haven’t seen it.
I wonder if Lunana will be released here where I live?
I am seeing The Worst Person in the World this weekend!!!!! I have seen the other 3 nominees already.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 8, 2022 at 6:08 pm #1204790578I didn’t expect A Hero snub. I haven’t seen Lunana yet so I know nothing about it. I’ve seen all the other contenders besides Lunana. My personal favorite is the Worst Person in the World. But it seems that Drive My Car might beat it.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 15, 2022 at 7:26 pm #1204804337And about ignoring, it’s referring for the full underperformance (which actually I warned us since months) The European Film Awards didn’t nominate the film (even when you dismiss it. No European frontrunner in International Film had miss the main noms in these awards when eligible since 2003), the critics ignored it over Drive My Car or even Flee) and the GG and ISA ignored the film. But yeah, if you said so. Don’t be surprised if the Norwegian film is snubbed in the noms phase
Not only did TWPITW get in Best International Film, but it also got in Original Screenplay. So…about that prediction.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 16, 2022 at 11:08 am #1204805144The Worst Person in the World was so disappointing. I’m glad about the surprising Screenplay nod because international talent getting recognized is always a good thing, but I expected much more. The story is well told, but so uninteresting.
ReplyCopy URLMarch 30, 2022 at 9:12 am #1204890019I know I’m late to the party on this, but congratulations to Drive My Car on its win.
