Winslet absolutely slayed in Revolutionary Road. That phonecall at the end where she talks to Hahn’s character and asks her to tell the children “she loves them” and the horror on her face when she sees the what is actually happening,– talk of acting.

Shame on the Critics Choice Awards for not even nominating this performance when it won Golden Globe Drama Actress and was nominated in Lead for SAG and BAFTA.

J Law in SLP is the first that comes to mind. Chastain in Tammy Faye kinda too but her performance was still pretty good.

Agree with the poster that there’s a LOT of these wins because of the voters going for the overdue narrative.

Should’ve won Comedy Actress, because she was laughable. As was DiCaprio.

I respect your opinion although the matter which the film dealt with and the storyline/fate/dilemma of Winslet’s character April Wheeler is not comic, rather it is a poignant one that deals with a topic concerning women’s safety for generations, which is extremely crucial to hear and respect and shed light on, especially in the light of recent political/judicial events.

Emma Stone should have won for The Favourite, as lead. It’s her best performance to this day.

Not an Oscar win but a GG win that always annoyed me.
Sal Mineo in Exodus against that competition always confuses me since he should have won for Rebel Without A Cause.

I feel the same but for Rachel Weisz lol

I haven’t seen The Constant Gardener so I can’t tell if she won for the « wrong role » but she definitely should have won BSA.
