This is just something I’ve been thinking about recently, wondering if there are any other actors other than these who have three or more acting nominations, all of which were for portrayals of real-life people. Here are the ones I could come up with, but there are probably others, as I didn’t look into this too much.

(Not looking at actors with only 2 nominations as I’m sure there are a lot of those, or actors like Meryl Streep with multiple nominations as real people but who have also been nominated for fictional characters as well)

    3:

Joe Pesci (Joey LaMotta, Tommy DeVito [based on Tommy DeSimone], Russel Bufalino)

Jason Robards (Ben Bradlee, Dashiell Hammett, Howard Hughes)

Charlize Theron (Aileen Wuornos, Josey Aimes [based on Lois Jenson], Megyn Kelly)

    4:

Geoffrey Rush (David Helfgott, Philip Henslowe, Marquis de Sade, Lionel Logue)

I love how everyone all just collectively ignored the condition that all of the actor’s nominations have to be for biopics and turned it into a Meryl thread

Christian Bale I think does fit after all, on the same stipulation that Theron and Pesci had performances as real-life people but with different names as them.

Bale joins Rush with a 4 for 4 record, nominated for Dicky Eklund, Irving Rosenfeld (based on Mel Weinberg), Michael Burry, and Dick Cheney!
