If Close and Winslet are nominated this year, they will match Page’s 8 nominations, trailing only Davis, Hepburn, and Streep.
We have so many living actresses with 4-7 nominations. It seems like only a matter of time before a few hit 10, and inevitable that someone will hit 8.
How many nominations do we think Streep will receive by the end of the career?
Could Winslet, Blanchett, Adams, or any other actresses of their generation match Davis or Hepburn?
How many nominations do you think younger generation actresses could receive down the road (e.g. Lawrence, Ronan, Stone)?
Do you think the non-Streep veterans (e.g. Dench, Close, Fonda, Lange) can receive 1-2 more nominations in the coming years?
Or do we think someone like Olivia Colman could get on a strong streak of nominations?
ReplyFebruary 16, 2021 at 8:41 am #1204044409I think Winslet will get a few more noms and possibly a win.
I can see Dench stacking up another nom.
Blanchett, Ronan, Adams will most likely reach 10.

February 16, 2021 at 9:42 am #1204044491I think Dench is a done unless something urgent comes along. Close could continue receiving nominations. My only concern if she wins this year is that they’ll shy away from her afterwards.

Winslet is also a huge talent. I think that Kate will get a second won in the future as well
Hopefully Dench will get another nom or two.

Kate Winslet’s next role is in a movie called Lee from a first time feature film director. They’re both still young, but I predict Blanchett will return to the Oscars sooner.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 16, 2021 at 1:21 pm #1204044996I’m only worried about Maggie Smith and Helen Mirren. Smith seems to have upcoming projects that seem baity, but I’m scared they’ll skip her like they did for Marigold Hotel. I pray she gets nominated though cos time is running so fast.
I don’t know what Mirren is upto, but whatever it is, I pray it turns out successful.
It looks like Dench,lLange and Fonda are done. Streep may possibly reach 25 at least if she doesn’t die before 90. Like M pointed out, if Close wins this year, they’ll likely close her chapter.
Blanchett and Winslet are both pretty young, they can easily reach 10 with the right projects.

February 16, 2021 at 4:53 pm #1204045311It feels like Dench is done. Close wasn’t even in people’s minds until The Wife so basically anything can happen.
Blanchett might get a lot more though.
