I don’t live in/am from the US, but just watched this film, and it was awfully boring. Neither Bale nor Adams deserves to win for this film. Amy does absolutely nothing, she’s borderline awful and I’m a huge fan of hers, and Bale was both good and annoying me in this “transformation”. It’s even getting praise (nominations) for its editing. What a joke. I call that Adam McKay ass licking. I just want Rachel Weisz to win Supporting Actress this year ’cause she’s the only one who truly deserves it. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the film snubbed with all the buzz surrounding Black Panther and Bohemian Rhapsody, but with the potential Directing (name-check) nom for Adam McKay, I doubt that happens.

Regina deserves it and will get it

Big fan of Better Call Saul, Sex Education, Barry, BoJack Horseman, and, especially, Survivor

I saw this yesterday, and I didn’t like it at all. It was hard to sit through. I hated the choppy editing and the constant switching back and forth between the scenes of young Cheney and older Cheney. I thought the performances were just decent. Rockwell was amusing in his brief turn as Dubya. However, I didn’t find Bale’s performance all that impressive. There are 4 male lead performances from 2018 that I would rank above his.

I loved this film,it´s easily one of my five favorites of the year. The screenplay,Amy Adams and the score are definitely the best parts of it.I hope it gets nominated in these three categories, picture, director and actor.

This film is awful, unaccurate, not funny, bad written, dull and frankly Christian Bale should win Razzies no Oscars or Golden Globes for this role.

Just watched it. Love it. Doesn’t deserve to be Best Picture but definitely a nominee

I just love movies. And awards.

Looking at the opinions here, this is definitely the most divisive movie in the history of Gold Derby forums. No question about that.

You need to have a certain type of humor to enjoy the film, if you don´t you will suffer for two hours+.

The only good thing about this crap of a movie is Amy Adams who is not better than in that overacting masterclass called The Fighter….Oh and the death scene of Jesse Plemmosn, sadly he would’t shut up after that.

That moment made me scream, it was great…Also, the score for the film on the first half is beautiful, I didn´t care about it on the rest of the film.

The movie was entertaining at times but it’s scope was so broad and ambitious that it lost focus, and felt like it wouldn’t end because of it.

I appreciated everything they tried to fit in because a lot of it felt important..but I agree, I thought the movie was ending about 4 different times and it was kind of information overload…

Everybody knows by now that this is my least favorite movie I saw in 2018. My question is: how many Oscar nominations will it get? I had hoped it would end up like Nixon, getting 2 or 3 nominations, but even though the critics didn’t love it, and it hasn’t done all that great at the box office, it seems to be this year’s Darkest Hour. It has the potential to get 2-7 nominations. The two that I admit are locks are Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress. Possible are BP, Director, Original Screenplay and Makeup & Hairstyling, and maybe Film Editing. (I would be really upset if it got in for it’s Film Editing; there are so many more deserving potential nominees). I have no idea what academy members are going to do, if the writer’s branch and director’s branch will recognize it’s flaws or not. Does it have enough passion to make it in to BP? I really have no idea.

I am predicting it gets 3 nominations: Bale, Adams and MU/HAIR. This may just be wishful thinking on my part.

I think Vice had an incredible awards campaign with a clever use of the embargo. I’m also not a huge fan but did not dislike it as much as you did. I would add it to Picture, Director (instead of Farrely), and Editing. Screenplay, in my opinion, is it’s hardest get. However, with how weak the competition is I would say it is still very possible. I think BSA could happen as well. Score is less likely but I suppose it’s possible.

Best possible day for Vice: 9 (Picture, Director, Actor, S. Actress, S. Actor, O. Screenplay, Editing, MU&HS, Score)

Currently Predicting: 7 (Picture, Director, Actor, S. Actress, O. Screenplay, Editing, MU&HS)

Worst Day: 2 (Actor, S. Actress)
