Three immediate thoughts:

1- We got to stop underestimating The Woman King.
2- Delighted to see Nope on here, which seems to have been getting a kind of resurgence as of late.
3- Films that made both NBR and AFI: The Banshees, The Fabelmans, EEAO, Avatar, Top Gun, Women Talking and The Woman King.

I was curious about who picks the AFI list of Best Films and FYI, the list was selected by a jury which included Colman Domingo, Siân Heder, Mario Van Peebles; film historians L.S. Kim, Akira Mizuta Lippit, Leonard Maltin and Robert Thompson; members of the AFI Board of Trustees; film critics Janet Maslin, Shawn Edwards from the African American Film Critics Association, and film critics from outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Salon, and The Washington Post. The jury was chaired by AFI Board of Trustees member Jeanine Basinger, Chair Emerita and Founder of the Film Studies Department, Wesleyan University.
