MBJ is not in Babylon??? I agree though, I would’ve loved to see him work with a director who is pretty notorious for getting most of his actors nominated. MBJ is only good with certain directors mainly Coogler, but I feel like he would’ve meshed well with  D.O. Russell.

I think it would have finished for awards season regardless (unless it started shooting late Summer). DOR has a quick turnaround when it comes to film shoots (I believe American Hustle was shot in the space of two months).

There are people who seem to genuinely like DOR and don’t have issues working with him. Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Christian Bale have all done multiple films with him and don’t show signs of stopping. Even Lily Tomlin said she is on good terms with him after the I Heart Huckabees incident. So, I’m not willing to say it’s entirely about advancing their careers.
