Vice was extremely divisive (with no passion in the end for it, save for make-up) and she was vote-splitting all season long with Sharp Objects. If Blunt could get into SAG and BAFTA for The Girl on the Train, then she definitely has a good chance of making it all the way to the Oscars.

The film is getting reshoots due to the the audience’s confusion in the third act during a test screening  and is now moved to 2020 release date.

Now Amy will have two movies in award contention, this and The Hillbilly Elegy. Could this be a repeat of 2017 where she was completely snubbed for Arrival and Nocturnal Animals?

I’m pretty sure she was snubbed because everyone thought she was a lock for Arrival; her performance in Nocturnal Animals was basically a non-factor. Though, I can’t tell which one she should campaign next year. Obviously which ever one is bigger but TWOW’s reshoots may end up causing even more trouble or Hillbilly Elegy could just be a Netflix push solely for Close in SActress. Either way, blood will be shed because of Close lol.

Well time to change my golden globe predictions. I not only had adams getting into drama actress, I also had it getting in for score (Trent reznor and atticus ross)

The cast is incredible but something about this tells me this is going to get a Girl on the Train-type critical reception. Joe Wright hasn’t exactly found much success outside British period dramas (I hate to bring up Pan, but…) and Tracy Letts has never written a screenplay that wasn’t adapted from his own work, not like I can see his and Joe Wright’s styles mixing well.

With a Girl on the Train-type reception, Adams could potentially get the nomination where Blunt failed, but she definitely couldn’t win. Even if the film were great, I still don’t think she could win for this type of role. And I don’t think AMPAS is going to want to keep nominating Adams with no intention of actually awarding her, especially after Vice, her sixth nomination. I think Hillbilly Elegy is a much better bet for her.
