Her work in this was brought up in another thread recently. I haven’t seen this film in about 30 years! I commented I hadn’t remembered much other than Burns in some scenes on the beach and how young Barbara Hershey was…film was about 20 years old at the time I saw it if I am right in how long ago it was. I looked it up on youtube hoping the whole film was available for free and saw this scene you added the link for. She’s fabulous here.

She blew me away. Too bad she hated the film and her performance but we don’t. Glad the Oscars included her during In Memoriam segment.

This thread made me research about the movie and Catherine Burns. The THR article about her life is very interesting. I wish Hollywood supported her more rather than alienating her from acting.

I’m actually quite disgusted about Hollywood’s and critics treatment of her. Constantly body-shaming her, and rarely got offered more great roles after her nomination because of her looks. She should’ve won the Oscar.
