Fernando Montenegro (Central Station), Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet (both Heavenly Creatures), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown) and Nicole Kidman (To Die For) were all robbed of nominations/wins.

I’m not going to make my personal picks but I have to say I like most of the 90’s winners a LOT, it really was one of the best decades for cinema with Kathy Bates, Jodie Foster, Holly Hunter, Susan Sarandon and Frances McDormand deservedly becoming winners. It all started going downhill from 1998 onwards and sadly it resulted in the mess that was the 2000’s.

From the 90’s nominees Catherine Deneuve (Indochine), Helena Bonham Carter (The Wings of the Dove) and Fernanda Montenegro (Central Station) are some of my favorite nominated performances ever.

You should, I’m half French/half Brazilian so I always pull for my fellow countrywomen but this is not even that, she was just really amazing. Sis is an acting legend to the point of having a random bank ad reach 50 million views on Youtube within 2 months, her power!

It’s almost rare for me to agree with them for three years straight.
