One more reason to curse Netflix to the very bottom of hell; Klaus pulled off a stunning upset as the little-seen movie somehow won seven Annie animated film awards including Feature and Director. Frozen II, the obvious victim of its own success and a anti Disney/Marvel backlash in general, won just 2.

Doubt it’ll win the Oscars, but boy would it be cool.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 25, 2020 at 11:22 pm #1203305337The real question is, if Toy Story 4 gets upset, which film will it be: Missing Link, Klaus, or I Lost my Body? I feel like all 3 have a chance now.

Do you realize how much of a troll you sound like right now? The industry hates Netflix just as a much as Disney right now: Marriage Story and The Irishman are about to go 1 for 16 on wins.

Who says that Klaus was little-seen? Do you know how easy it is to watch Netflix?
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 26, 2020 at 1:29 am #1203305581Netflix is so hated that they won 19 of the 36 Annie categories last night.
So perhaps you can reconsider your position as to why I and everyone should consider Netflix an enemy of the mainstream in TV and film

Hilarious!
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 26, 2020 at 2:37 am #1203305612I would predict Klaus if the Academy actually watched the animation nominees. We all know they don’t. Heck, I didn’t even have the movie on my watchlist until recently.
And regarding Netflix, do you think many Academy members use it? I think it’s more of a young people thing.

While I liked that movie and I think it’s cute I still think Toy Story 4 is superior in many aspects so I’m rooting for the Pixar film. I will keep it in my predictions but might change it at the last minute.

My gut tells me that Toy Story 4 isn’t going to win but I have no idea what will! I am going to go with the crowd though and be prepared to get this one incorrect!

Did you know Klaus didn’t even win the Spanish Academy Goya for Best Animated Film in its OWN COUNTRY? They lost last night to Buñuel in the Labyrinth of Turtles. This is simply not a good time to be a popular, quality Disney or Marvel movie right now. It is clearly held against you by the guilds.
