Honest question: how do you feel about Butler’s performance? Am I the only one here who actually has it #5 (not on prediction, but on my personal preference) ?

I’ve only seen Fraser and him, but he’s easily ahead of Fraser to me.

You all shouldn’t be switching your predictions cause of one-off ballots. These are mostly just morbid entertainment that you *might* find a pattern in.

I agree. He’s surely done a great work on impersonification and mimesis, but I got zero emotions from him. Like in the break-up scene, he’s almost inexpressive. I simply don’t think he has this much of a range, as of now. So I vastly prefer Fraser, Mescal, Nighy and Farrell.

Jodie Comer, Elisabeth Moss, Carey Mulligan, Alicia Vikander supremacy

He’s great in the singing and performing part of Elvis, average as Elvis the person. But they also don’t give him much character depth being from Tom Hank’s POV

Cate with 10 ballots is a good sign for her tbh. Last year, Cruz was way ahead with 17 against 3 for Chastain. And these ballots are mostly from NY and LA. I don’t think Michelle has that much of international support.

Tom Hanks character was the biggest problem for me in “Elvis”. Every time when he appeared on screen i wanted he go away and let Butler’s plays his role. Baz was wrong when he choosed Hanks for this role, he ruined big parts of movie. And Razzie wins today just proves it.

That’s 100% were I am. I mean he was a good impersonator, but he was just directed to do faces and moves because there is no acting, no performance simply because there is no character. And I have to clarify, this is not Butler’s fault, but Luhrmann’s,both for the screenplay and the direction.

Yeah, but to me that is a big problem. Acting is becoming a character, but if the character isn’t on the screen, what is the actor actually doing? I may be harsh but I don’t think it is going to be a particularly deserved win
