Do we know if Glenn and Amy have many scenes together? I’m curious to see if having Glenn as a scene partner elevates Amy

I think Amy is playing the mother of the protaganist, and Glenn is the grandmother, so i presume she is Amys characters mother, so guaranteed scenes together

Have people read reviews of test screenings? Some of these posts sound like people have. Where?

It would be cool if Glenn got lead actress. I’m still not over the last loss!

Wow Janet Maslin (a tough critic) really likes her:

In “Hillbillly Elegy” Close finally has a role good enough to put her in contention. She’s the film’s backbone, so immersed in her Appalachian character that it takes a while to recognize her. Nothing like her other work. No offense to “The Wife,” but “The Wife” was ridiculous.

Annoying though that she doesn’t answer the posts about whether it is a lead or supporting role. Maybe she doesn’t want to influence the decision.

Every fan of a particular actor wants them to win lead but in the case of Glenn Close where there is collective indifference to her genius to actually award her throughout the years from film bodies I’ll take the gold watch coronation in supporting without embarrassment.

Close can sweep in supporting just like Viola did for Fences.

Dern easily sweeping last year was the writing on the wall that Netflix can secure career Oscars if they put the right resources behind it. Visibility afforded from campaign money was the only factor keeping Close from the finish line last time, and she has it now.
