Are we okay with no Oscar host?

I’ll admit it, I’m really bummed the Oscars have decided to go hostless yet again, particularly for a pandemic show that’ll bounce around to several different venues. Jimmy Kimmel did an ace job hosting the pandEmmys and I would have loved to see him return to ABC for the Oscars. What do you all think?

Yes, way better than an actual host who opens the show with an annoying monologue full of lame, pathetic and cringy jokes.

Next year they should get a big name to host if ratings continue to dip. I’d say Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson or Will Smith.

It worked mostly well the first time, but not so much last year. This year was the right time to have a host again. Jimmy Kimmel would’ve been a good choice.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler should host the Oscars someday.

The host this year is Steven Soderbergh’s hubris. There’s not any room left for a physical host. And yes, these virtual awards are special occurrences that need a host to keep the pacing and flow intact. A host might even draw in viewers who wouldn’t have watched otherwise.

A funny person hosting the ceremonies would not work at this time. The country is in chaos and the world is battling a pandemic. Host-less is preferable for this specific ceremony.

I think we need one this year. The GP on the most part haven’t seen the nominees and they need a proper introduction.
Unless they put time aside for long clips from each nominated movie, they need a host to inject some energy into the proceedings.
