My questions is: Why was Atonement snubbed by SAG, PGA, DGA and WGA? That movie was huge oscar contender, yet it was snubed by the guilds. The movie won at the HFPA and BAFTA.

So why the guild snubbed it? I mean, no SAG? Seriously?!

    What’s your take?

Simply put, the film was a dissapointment.  I didn’t realize all of those guilds snubbed it though, that does seem a bit much given it was able to get in anyway but there was a lack of strong contenders that year to beat it out.  SAG also snubbed Juno and Michael Clayton  that year: In fact, the only Best Picture nominee that year that got in was No Country.  Fairly surprising, but SAG isn’t always on the money.
