She is absolutely terrible in Love, Actually but that movie is a mess in itself save for Emma Thompson & Alan Rickman.

Gonna go old school and say Anne Baxter in “All About Eve”. I never got that casting or why people admire that performance. Her character was interesting in terms of written dialogue only. Considering Eve is supposed to be this great actress, Baxter came off immediately as a fake and terribly uninteresting from the her first appearance the first time I saw this film so many years ago. The work has not grown on me. The breathiness she delivers also drives me crazy. Maybe at the end of the day she’s not the worse case of bad acting (IMO) in a great film but when looking at just about everyone else in the cast it irks me.

Not necessarily a bad performance but Catherine Deneuve wasn’t the best choice for “Repulsion“.

I disagree, I think she’s great in it. Also, while I can understand not liking the film because it’s very sappy and created a bad genre, I disagree that it’s a mess and I find it very endearing. And finally, I believe Bill Nighy is the best performance in that film (I’d rank Thompson second).

Wow, first time I am reading this. Who do you believe would have been a better choice?

This is REALLY hard. Read everything for inspiration, and I don’t agree with the ones listed. (The ones i watched anyway)

I just love movies. And awards.

I’m going to disagree with this one. For the first time I actually saw her as an actress. She was really good in it and was the heart of the movie (imo), she also had a pretty great chemistry with Lerman. Nina Dobrev was the one I disliked the most in the movie. IDK why but she always felt out of place to me.

I have to agree. She received praise but I did not see it at all.
