Did BAFTA have this jury-voting-for-noms thing before? Somebody said 2012? What categories and were there also 7-12 members in the jury?

There was a longlist in 2011 but no jury for acting/directing.

I am surprised people are so high on Cumberbatch getting nominated. He’s easily at the bottom half of the top 15 in likelihood for me.

They probably haven’t watched that film, but put him in because of his British identity and hearing “Mauritanian is well-received by Bafta.”

The British I predict for BSA are Colman, of course, and Ehle and Ali. Should I predict someone else as well? However, I don’t really think they will go for 4 British actresses, more like 3:3.

About Morfydd Clark and Bukky Bakray – I have them in my predictions, but since they got nominated for the Rising Star, I don’t know what to do with them. Should they stay in, should I remove them?! One to stay, one to go? I feel like whatever I do, it would be hit or miss.

    ⭐Best Actress - Carey Mulligan

    ⭐Best Supporting Actress - Youn Yuh-jung

Feel pretty confident Seyfried is missing.

Clark and Bukkray will likely be getting double nominations this year with Best Actress, though it’s possible Wunmi Mosaku can replace one of them (if not, she can easily replace Vanessa Kirby whose movie no one cares about).

Not predicting it but it’s also possible that Jessie Buckley may replace someone.

    6. Vanessa Kirby, Pieces of a Woman

    7. Morfydd Clark, Saint Maud
    8. Alfre Woodard, Clemency
    9. Jessie Buckley, I’m Thinking of Ending Things
    10. Radha Blank, The 40 Year Old Version

Having seen The Mauritanian, I would be shocked if Tahar missed with this system. He was THAT good. Possibly my favourite male performance so far. On the other hand, I could easily see Jodie Foster getting snubbed. It’s a solid role and she’s very good, but it’s not very baity.
