There’s a strong prejudice here against ANY perf where the character displays anomalies in personality. I’ve never agreed with that
The Sunne in Splendour.
I prefer my roses whiteFebruary 18, 2023 at 6:07 am #1205307344Keoghan plays a deeply traumatized and abused human being and I still found him quite subtle especially when he gets his heart broken by Siobhán. He mostly expresses his pain and anguish through his eyes. What a bad take to consider his performance hammy.
Keoghan is my favorite in the supporting category. I would love an upset, but I know it’s happening. Hopefully, the supporting actor is the only Oscar Everything Everywhere All at Once wins. After 2 and 1/2 attempts watching EEAAO, I just didn’t connect with it. But, it is beloved by so many and will probably be the most awarded film on Oscar night.
Life is a thin thread.

February 18, 2023 at 7:17 am #1205307397Director is so difficult to predict for me. Waiting for DGA. If Daniels can’t win there why would they win here? We’ll see.

I think her performance is a little too “hammy” for the Brits, but you never know?
