Wow, this bodes poorly for TPOTD’s Best Picture chances. I think it’s anyone’s game now.

Oh right, I’d forgotten it wasn’t nominated at WGA. Then I guess I’ll be making my final bet on that category after CC tonight! (Although I still think what happens at WGA will be telling — if CODA doesn’t win, that race will suddenly be very interesting.)

I agree! If CODA wins WGA.. then that’s a dangerous combo to be walking into the Oscars with..

if The Power of the Dog wins Critic’s Choice and something like Dune or West Side Story (or especially, Nightmare Alley or tick, tick…BOOM!) wins then the race will be much more open,

if CODA wins both Critic’s Choice and WGA ..

What if CODA wins Picture at CC, will it be a two horse race at the Oscars?

TPOTD lost in multiple categories and still won Picture. It just shows to you how undeniable it is in the picture and director race.

Dune most BAFTAs awards, but no Picture win. TPOTD won only Picture and Director. Belfast only British Film. CODA went 2/3. Interesting.

“The Power of the Dog” still won Best Picture and Director! It’s just weird that it didn’t win any acting awards or at least cinematography or score…

How? It majorly underperformed here and still won Best Film. It can win with Director and I’d still guess it could pick up a surprise below the line.
