McAvoy deserves better. He should be in contention, just as he should have absolutely been nominated for Atonement; he wasn’t beating DDL but there were some weak nominees that year. At least worm him into BSA. But nope.

That’s what I thought too, but I believe a GD poster who read the book said there’s a lot of scenes in the book with Naomi and Woody so they could possibly be put in lead instead, unless the story is told through multiple flashbacks.

McAvoy is a severely forgotten actor who should have more than a few nominations imo. He’s not going to beat Oldman, or DDL for that matter, but he could be really good and get a solid lock on a nomination.
