Darlings, Nose is being outacted by Johansson in his shared scenes. I can smell it. He’s not winning against Joke. And that’s sad, because Clownery is a disgusting mess, but the clown will win.

they’ve intentionally not spoiled all of his oscar worthy scenes. Don’t you worry, your opinion will change when you actually see Marriage Story

Not really lol. He outacted her in some scenes including this one big scene but both were great.

I need Adam Sandler to come through with either NYFCC, LAFCA, NSFC then Gotham, Critics Choice Comedy Actor, Comedy Globe and Indie Spirit. Won’t happen but I’m speaking this into existence. The critics do LOVE Uncut Gems

I think it’s possible he wins one or two. Dont think it will matter for oscar though.

Why are people even pitting Driver against Scarlette? Are they competing in the same category? What the fuck

We even know that those white tennis shoes acted better than Malek in BR and he still won!!! No disrespect to the people from MS, I am just venting because some of the posts here are so weird.

Darlings, stop this nonsense. I thought last year Bore stans were the worst but you surpass it every year. Nose stans are the most annoying group of disgusting snobs I’ve ever read here. The Globes are awarding Joke. Open your eyes.

Saw Joker last night. The film won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, but Phoenix is exceptional. I can’t imagine a scenario where he doesn’t win Best Actor.

Madam Tatcher. With all due respect, you named me the new prime minister. Mr Driver is SWEEPING. You’ll need to accept that or I will be sending my troops to your residency area. Sorry not sorry.

    Darling, I-

Some troops are still faithful to Thatcher. Don’t make me start a civil war because of your delusion. Nose is losing to Joke’s disgusting performance.

Well I guess it’s the typical mentality to root against somebody because deep down they want that person to win so badly but still want to treat it as a surprise. Ms. Thatcher is team Driver after all.

I have to agree with Thatcher; I think Joaquin Phoenix is sweeping. But Adam Driver might win Critics’ Choice and all other critics awards.

My prediction is that Driver and Phoenix tie critics choice and Driver wins the smaller awards, but Phoenix takes SAG, BAFTA, Drama Globe, and ultimately the Oscar.

I was so surprised by how low-key (yet wonderful) Antonio Banderas’s performance is in Pain & Glory. I can see why he won the Cannes Best Actor award but I also see why he can’t win the Oscar and may even struggle to get nominated for the Oscar – not that he isn’t worthy, he is – but it’s not “showy” enough. Very low-key. tbh I preferred the Penelope Cruz flashback scenes as the best scenes of the movie (The First Desire part of the movie). The young kid was great and the man who learned how to read and write was terrific too. Several scenes in the present day were excellent, particularly Federico showing up in the middle of the night, and the older actress who played Cruz’s mother at a later age was terrific too. Almodovar accentuated drama without the kickiness of his comedies or his comedy-dramas. I rate this as Banderas’s 2nd best performance – with Almodovar’s The Skin I Live In still the best of his career.

I also saw Parasite and the young actor who plays the lead – the son – was the acting MVP – he held the film together from an acting point of view, since the film’s real star is the direction. (I need to look up the actor’s name).
