Um. Does Sean Penn think he is helping Cooper?!?

That article really came off wrong to me (no matter how much I enjoyed the film and thought it’s deserved better) but then again it’s Sean Penn, he’s pretty pretentious and all-around an awful human being. However, like Sister O’hara said, nothing can help or hurt the movie’s chances at this point, and some tea was spilt.

I hope he gets a good reception with Little Women.I really doubt he can play royalty on The King.

The 1994 version was so good and Ryder and Bale were just perfect as Jo and Laurie that the comparisons will be inevitable.

I really like Chalamet (and Ronan and Getwig) so I’m hoping for the best but the standard is pretty high.

Chalamet needs to get himself a damn box office hit already. He’s utterly beloved, downright worshipped here in France for obvious reasons but he’s far from being a movie star. Despite the tumblr/twitter hype, CMBYN did middling box office numbers and Beautiful Boy was a bomb. He really needs more commercial success

Didn’t realize a gay romance doing almost 12x (41.9 million) its budget (3.5 million) after a questionable roll out was a bad thing, but okay.

No one called it a bad thing where did you see that? We’re saying he needs a commercial box office hit to raise his star power

I have never been impressed by Hedges. He just doesn’t do it for me.

On the other hand I’m rooting for Chalamet to have a huge career. He’s a fantastic actor and seems like a great person too

Btw, Lucas Hedges vs Timothee Chalamet What do we think ?

This whole one actors vs. another actor just gets on my nerves. They’re both amazing, why can’t people just leave it at that? They’re friends in real life, and I don’t think they’d appreciate this at all. Those two, along with Saoirse Ronan and several others, are going to shape the next generation of amazing actors.

Chalamet’s quiet, subdued, subtle performance in CMBYN is still one of the best I’ve seen in a very long time. Hedges’ performance in Boy Erased may seem too reserved at first, but if you take a real look at it, it’s a very honest and natural performance.

Yes,I don’t know why people start comparisons and feuds.Every actor is good in his or her own way.Hedges is also supremely talented so is Chalamet and both are very young.Chalamet at the moment looks as will have a better career but God knows what will happen next.I myself like Chalamet a bit more than Hedges but both are amazing and it’s perfectly fine to like one more than the other but starting a fan feud is just not right

    EditD

I find them incomparable to be honest; just because they’re young, doesn’t make them similar. The only thing they have in common, in my opinion, is the naturalism in their performances. They will probably both have amazing careers, and I am so grateful to be able to grow up with them! Chalamet has some huge movies coming up, and he will only become more popular – The King, Little Women, the French Dispatch, Dune. What Bohemian Rhapsody did for Malek, one of these movies – presumably “Dune” – will do to Chalamet, which is garner him some mainstream support.

This is an awards website, and awards are often about pitting a bunch of people against one another, which isn’t great. We should just be careful that we don’t support that outside of our predictions; that’s what Hollywood does to people, and it doesn’t always end well.

I liked Hedges in Boy Erased, but Timmy is miles better. I do think though that Timmy isn’t always perfect casting, I think I would have preferred someone else for Beautiful Boy.

hedges’ performances all kinda blend together for me, doesn’t help that he somehow comes off as gay in every single one of them (made sense after his supposed “coming out”, I guess “I’m not straight” was as far as his agent allowed him to go)

I’ve thought I was the only one getting gay vibes from him! When I saw him in Manchester by the Sea I was like ‘am I really to believe this gay boy is nailing those chicks?’
