I enjoy Emily Blunt, but I don’t get the passion for her around these parts.

Well how much passion can there be for everyone else who has missed most, if not all, of the precursors?

Do you think no one else got some push from last night? Aparicio may have and people could pay more attention to Pike. Usually there’s a surprise in nomination morning. Top 5 don’t  feel as locked as last year.

yalitza simply isn’t the “face” of roma like the other contenders are for their films, it’s cuaron’s film and I think last night established that more than anything

I thought some definitely did, but I’d just rather play it safe after how disastrous my predictions ended up last night lol. I personally feel like the main surprises that could happen will be the Supporting categories, but you do you. Shout-out to Pike, though, last night looking like a winner.

She´s campaigning for supporting with A Quiet Place and leading with Mary Poppins Returns.

I think that’s what they meant……she’ll get in for supporting but not here

I’m still waiting on bafta where both adams and king could get snubbed, for now I have robbie in as well, it helps that her film is apparently doing better at the box office than most on-the-edge competitors

I’ve been watching this in celebration of Close’s win and in anticipation of the Sunset Boulevard film adaptation (if it actually does get made…).

To me the clip above shows how Glenn Close understands acting (stage and film) down to the core of her being.

Glenn had a nice win at the Globes. But that’s not enough to really reverberate everywhere else. Gaga probably still wins SAG, though I’d love for Colman to win (which is not impossible — the voters will watch the screeners given all the noms and she’s objectively better than either Close/Gaga).

At least Olivia is a lock for the BAFTA win, though.
