Blunt really needs a miracle to breakthrough. I’m joining you in the prayer sessions

My prayer circle for Keira Knightley in P&P worked and she only had a Globe nom coming in. Hopefully we won’t need to prayer so hard this time ….

I’m a fan of Nicole, but she already has an Oscar and multiple nominations. She doesn’t need a prayer circle like Emily does

I still did it anyway lol. Plus I had witches working 24/7 and other, let’s say, less than legal procedures. She’ll get #2 someday.

I’m all for Nicole, and happy to join you don’t get me wrong, but my priority simply has to be Emily as following Lesley’s nomination last year she’s my last favourite actor to remain unrecognised by the Academy

IMO Emily should’ve been nominated first since Devil Wears Prada. It’s not like Meryl was the only memorable character from the movie.

Emily is probably out, but who replaces her? Viola? Yalitza?

If Emily is out then Viola is laying on some graveyard.
    I’m predicting Yalitza right now.

What have I missed? Why is Emily out? Not only is she deserving, but she’s hit all precursors except BAFTA compared to other women in the running. I wouldn’t give up on her already. The threats imo are only Viola Davis (BAFTA + BFCA) and Nicole Kidman (Globe) tho. Yalitza ain’t Huppert or Riva aka have the support needed for a nomination.

Dear God, hear my prayer. Please make the Academy snubbed A Star Is Born, Blackkklansman, Black Panther and Vice in all the categories.

Of course that snubbing should start in the best actress race by letting out the payola contender

Yeah, I still kind of think Blunt could happen considering she still has hit more precursors than anyone else. I admit the BAFTA snub was surprising and definitely good for Davis, but I don’t know if I see Davis getting in. I would love Kidman to get in, but don’t know how possible that is at this point.

I saw IndieWire just predicted Aparacio to make the lineup, and I get that she benefits from Roma’s popularity and momentum right now, but I personally would not put her in my lineup in front of so many standout performances that are also on the cusp..

More than likely, Blunt will get the nod. But in the chance that she doesn’t, Aparicio should definitely get it instead. Roma is this major player in the race…but no recognition for Aparicio? She IS the movie.

I am going to be surprised no matter which actress gets the fifth slot, and since I have loved all of their performances I will be happy for whoever it is. I would be happier if Lady Gaga were somehow replaced as well, which is not going to happen, because there are so many deserving nominees this year who are going to get snubbed.

I haven’t seen Johanna Kulig yet, nor Rosamund Pike, but the list of wonderful performances is LONG! Close, Colman and McCarthy are likely to be nominated, and then there are Aparicio (my prediction), Blunt, Kidman, Julia Roberts! (my real pick for Best Actress of 2018), Carey Mulligan, Elsie Fisher, Constance Wu… the only acclaimed performance that disappointed me was Toni Collette’s (I expected to love it, and didn’t care for it at all). Lady Gaga was good too but will definitely be my #5 out of the Oscar nominees. So it’s been a truly great year for actresses!
